APC Is A Dying Party In Imo Umeh Declares

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Chief Victor Umeh has vowed that his party would re-capture the seat of government in Imo State during next year’s general election.

Chief Umeh said this when the national officers of APGA received a governorship aspirant and former Minister of Interior Capt. Emmanuel Ihenacho when the latter came to obtain his Governorship nomination and Expression of Interest forms from the APGA National Secretariat Abuja.

While declaring the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a dying party in the state, Chief Umeh said that his party had been the traditional party in the state from the time it was formed in 2003. He also assured that there would be primary elections in the party to select the best candidates that would give the party victory in the state

Speaking earlier, Capt. Ihenacho promised not to let the party down if he emerged the governorship candidate of the party. He also stated that his mission was to remedy the various deficits the state had witnessed as a result of lack of proper direction in the governance of the state.

‘In Imo State, there is deficit in infrastructure, no particular programme for education, industrialization. There is endemic unemployment etc. All of these and more are what I will like to deal with if we get into government in 2015’ he concluded.

The former minister was accompanied at the visit by the former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in Imo State Mrs. Anne Dozie, Member Representing Owerri North State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly Engr. Dan Ikpeazu, his counterparts for Owerri Municipal Dr. Victor Mere, Hon. Victor Ndunagu of Mbaitoli State Constituency, many members of the Imo State Working Committee of APGA, party stalwarts and supporters
