APC Guber Candidate Nicholas Ukachukwu Corrupt Files Disappear From EFCC – Sources

As the Anambra State gubernatorial election thickens and the All Progressive Congress (APC) tries to put its house in order against major scandals surrounding its candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu, impeccable source within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revealed a disturbing information that the anti-graft agency has removed all corruption related files against Ukachukwu.

Two of such files that were under serious investigation but now allegedly missing are: the alleged diversion of $28 million paid to his company called RIOK Nigeria Limited when the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) paid him to build boreholes in the 774 LGAs of Nigeria, but no single borehole was built and the money never returned.

According to our sources, Ukachukwu claimed to have been cleared of any misappropriation of funds by the SSS, when the agency does not have such powers and mandate to clear any financial crimes.

The second case allegedly missing in EFCC custody is a petition written by the immediate past Attorney General of the Federation against those who claimed promissory notes of Paris Debt Refunds but systematically paid Ukachukwu over N15 billion in 2021 and 2022.

With these missing files, the APC candidate will be going into the election with a clean file and EFCC silent on the matters, which goes against the corruption stance of the Chairman, who claims that no one who has case with the commission will be spared.

Nigeria’s foremost anti-corruption civil society, the Network Against Corruption and Trafficking (NACAT) which initiated the probe of former governors Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, spoke to our reporter and has promised to resurrect the case and ensure that the EFCC prosecutes Ukachukwu before the Anambra guber race.
