Tension has continued to escalate within the All Progressives Congress in Adamawa State following protests in Numan over the alleged manipulation of the party’s House of Representatives primaries for the Demsa, Numan and Lamurde Federal Constituency.

Hundreds of party stakeholders, aspirants, youths and women groups stormed the APC zonal secretariat in Numan, rejecting the outcome of the exercise and alleging that the process was skewed in favour of Kwamoti La’ori.

Protesters carrying placards with inscriptions such as “No to Imposition” and “Democracy Must Prevail” claimed that no credible primary election was conducted.

The aggrieved members accused the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, of allegedly supporting an undemocratic process, warning that the development could deepen divisions within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Some dissatisfied aspirants, including Usoko Ken and Vrati Nzonzo, rejected the outcome of the primaries, insisting that the exercise lacked transparency and fairness. They called on the national and state leadership of the APC to cancel the disputed results and conduct a free and credible rerun.

Despite the controversy, the aggrieved aspirants pledged loyalty to the APC and vowed to pursue redress through peaceful and constitutional means.
