ANA/Yusuf Ali Creative Writing Workshop: Police, Stakeholders Assured To Synergized With Association Of Nigerian Authors

As countdown to the ANA/Yusuf Ali creative writing workshop gathers momentum, the Nasarawa state Police command has assured to give her utmost contribution for the workshop to succeed.

Abubakar Sadiq Bello,the state commissioner of police gave the assurance when he hosted leadership and members of the Association on a courtesy/advocacy visit at the state police headquarters along Makurdi road, Lafia.

Bello described ANA as a key figure in the fight against crime and negative tendencies in the society through their write ups even as he urged members to set the agenda for national rebirth and reorientation.

He then promised to take up the challenge of putting their thoughts to writing for posterity as well as to encourage reading among students and other members of the society.

Auditor General of the state, Rayyanu A. Lamus on his part, treated the ANA delegation to sumptuous poetic thoughts as he relived his school days with citations from major plays as written by William Shakespeare with amazingly creative ease.

He promised to join ANA in the crusade for revival of reading culture and stimulation of writing among the people.

State ANA Chairman, Alhaji Mukhtar S. Wakeel (Gado da Masun Wamba) who led the visits commended the Police for living up to expectation of the people with constant security checks that has led to sustenance of peace in the state over the years.

While according him full membership of the association, the chairman challenged him to put his thoughts to writing as well as to encourage the rank and file to write so as to put the Nigerian Police in proper perspective.

To the Auditor General, the chairman described him as a literary guru and a sound creative mind that has contributed to the growth of the state.

He highlighted activities lined up for the workshop and urged him to join in the campaign for revival of reading and creative writing.
