The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Plateau Central Senatorial District of Plateau State , Amb.Yohanna Golkuna Gotom has appealed to journalists to be more objective & focus on developmental reportage to encourage good governance and effective public service delivery in their reportage and future endeavor.
The PDP senatorial candidate made the appeal while speaking to reporters at the High Court premises in Jos .
He admonished them to always abide by the ethics of their profession, media law and its guiding practicing principles in conducting their job.
Gotom described journalists as key stakeholders providing and maintaining peace, unity, and progress of the state and nation at large.
According to him, “Please report my proceedings accordingly, but avoid writing any unbalanced report, because if you write an unbalanced story you cannot sleep as your conscious will not allow you for doing the wrong job”.
He stated further that “Our request to your area of objectives reporting is to always try to be objective and balance in your reportage, to put the 25th February 2023, at the doorstep of viewers.
Gotom also seeks corporate existence peace and progress above any interest, to join your hand in our quest for building a prosperous Greater Plateau Central zone
He applauded Journalists as key stakeholders in promoting good governance, delivering effective public service, peace unity and progress of any government and society”.
G.Y.Gotom urged journalists in the state to always report what they have seen and join hands with the government to promote peace unity and progress in the State.
He assured the supporters to remain calm that their mandate shall be restored back by the election tribunal, as he warned Diket Plang to stop parading himself as the senator representing Plateau Central.
Gotom cautioned the state media outfit PRTVC to be objective in their reportage.
