Dan Opara

One of the major road contractors in Imo State known as Arab Contractors have been invited by the IMHA member representing Ideato North State Constituency,  Hon.Chief Innocent Arthur Egwim, to as a matter of urgency return to the site.

The above request was made on Thursday, June 11th 2020, at the plenary of the State House when the lawmaker revealed that he has visited some of the road project sites to interact with the management of Arab Contractors but only noticed that they (Companies) are no longer on sites.

Hon.Egwim, while narrating his unfruitful encounters on visiting those areas where the companies are suppose to be working,  disclosed that no single is found.

“May be it could be that they have all gone home due the Coronavirus pandemic but I am calling on the House of Assembly to investigate all the activities of those contractors especially those companies  in-charge of the linking roads in Mbanasa bloc which includes:” Akokwa-Osina-Obodo-IhitteOwerri roads”.

” My worry is that about #500m have been released already for the projects and they must complete the projects”, Egwim submitted.

“If you go to Ideato North at the moment , you will see the ugly heights of the damages already caused by the erosion. The havocs are too much and those companies including those local contractors must come for proper investigation”, he insisted.

Chief Egwim, however called on Arab Contractors go back to their various sites in all the roads in Ideato North,  pointed out that erosion have taken over the areas, even as the lawmaker called on the members of the IMHA to come for his assistance.
