ALGON Drums Support For Uzodinma’s Supreme Court Victory As Imo Governor

The entire members of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Imo State, ably led by the State Chairman, Hon. Chief Emeka Osuorji, on behalf of the Imo ALGON, was on last Sunday,Feb.16th 2020, in a press briefing  at Imo APC State Secretariat along Owerri/Okigwe Road, told Imolites, Nigerians and the whole world that the leadership of ALGON is solidly behind the Supreme Court ruling that declared the APC guber candidate, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, as the Imo State Governor.


The 27 duly elected Executive Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Councilors, Supervisors and Appointees of the Local Government Areas of Imo State, unanimously commended the Supreme Court of Nigeria for the landmark judgment that took place on Jan.14th 2020 as the endorsement and wishes of the people of Imo State.


“Let the public take note that Imo ALGON as presently constituted is in total support of our Governor and will do everything to defend the mandate freely given to Gov. Uzodinma by the greatest number of Imo electorates. We reiterated our confidence in the Supreme Court of Nigeria and its infallibility and believe that the Apex Court cannot be cajoled into going back to send  Imo people backward politically”,  ALGON Chairman submitted.


At the briefing,  the Imo ALGON described the earlier declaration of the Imo PDP 2019 Guber Candidate, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, as Governor by INEC  as an  illegality, but extolled the Supreme Court for restoring the mandate of Imo State people for declaring Sen. Hope as Imo Governor”,  Osuorji disclosed.


Meanwhile, the leadership of Imo ALGON was on last Monday, Feb.17th 2020, in Owerri, staged a “One Million March” in support of Gov. Uzodinma’s Supreme Court Governorship declaration.


The ALGON members marched in their millions in the city of Owerri with placards and banners and in solidarity to the victory of Gov. Hope Uzodinma as Imo Governor, even as they reassured their unalloyed support for APC led government of Sen. Hope.
