Nasarawa State House of Assembly on Friday received the nomination of 11 Interim Management Committee(IMC) and 147 counsellors submitted to it by Gov.Tanko Al-Makura for confirmation as organised Labor strike enters its third week. All government ministries, parastatals and agencies offices remained under locks and keys as the organised labor strike enters its third week in the state. Gov. Al-Makura The speaker of the house, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi announced on behalf of Gov.Tanko Al-Makura at the floor of the house.
According to the Speaker “the Nasarawa state local government Amendment law 2006 for the establishment, structure, composition which is intended to provide for the appointment of a chairman, Interim committee (IMC)of the existing 13 local government councils “In the exercise of power conferred upon me by section 2,sub section 1-4 of Nasarawa state local government(Amendment) law 2006, i do here by submit the names of nominees for confirmation of the honourable house for appointment as chairmen of 11 “please note that this is consequent to the fact that the tenure of elected officials of Keana and Keffi local government councils is still subsisting,” he said.
According to Almakura the Interim Management Committee (IMC) chairmen and their members so as to give the people at the grass root a sense of belonging as well as to ensure even development at the grassroots. Balarabe-Abdullahi directed the clerk of the house to communicate the nominated chairmen and their members for screening and confirmation on Friday, July, 22.
The nominees for the position of 11 IMC chairmen includes Kwanta Yakubu for Akwanga LG,Hashimu Jada for Awe LG, John Ogah for Doma LG,Yinallah Iyan for Karu LG, Musa Namo for Kokona LG “Other includes-Suleiman Wambai for Lafia LG,Ayuba Wandai for Nasarawa LG,Akolo Success for Nassarawa Eggon LG, Sa’adatu Yahya for Obi LG, Mohammed OhiNoyi and Musa Namo for Wamba local government with their members.
