AISITU Demands Urgent Probe Of Okorocha, Wants Recovery Team To Put More Efforts

Group of Imo people numbering over 1000 persons on Thursday, July 11th 2019,armed with various kinds of placards inscriptions chanting war songs barricaded the entrance of the Imo State Government House Owerri,under platform of “Association of Imo State Indigenous Town Unions,AISITU,demanding that the Imo State Governor,Chief Emeka Ihedioha, to as a matter urgency probe the immediate past Imo Governor, Sen.Rochas Okorocha,and quick recovery of all the Imo assets with him and his accomplices for the past 8 years of his administration.

Speaking on behalf of AISITU, the leader of the group, High Chief Emeka Diwe,expressed satisfaction on the emergence of Chief Ihedioha as the Governor, and also expressed dissatisfaction over the leadership of the immediate past Imo Governor, Sen.Rochas Okorocha, whom he described his government as total failure in all ramifications,following his alleged ruinous misrule against the wish and interest of Imolites.

Chief Diwe,therefore said ” in specific terms, we want Gov.Ihedioha to quickly act and recover the following from Sen.Rochas and his accomplices,which includes over 35 count charges against the immediate past Imo Governor,such as:”the N21.6b taken from the Imo LGA system,Recovery of Eastern Palm University, Recovery of the N96b stolen from the Imo IGR for eight years, return of over N40b looted for his failed 27 General Hospital projects,Recovery of the Old IBC premises at Orji that was forcefully grabbed by Rochas,Recovery of the Nekede and Orji Villages,Recovery of the vast land on Sam Mbakwe Airport Road in NgorOkpala for the sake of attracting a Naval Base,and the Recovery of the Adapalm in Ohaji,that was allegedly leased out to unknown investors, Recovery of Imo Concorde Hotels, Seizure of Westbrook Hotels owned by his son-in-law,Hon.Uche Nwosu,Seizure of WODDI Wellness Center, owned by Rochas Wife, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, and all lands forcefully grabbed by Uche Nwosu,during his Commissionship position as the Land Commissioner in Imo,Recovery of over 25 plots of land   grabbed by Uche Nwosu, Recovery of the vast land grabbed by Rochas’s Sisters and Brothers worth of billions,Recovery of Okorocha’s Spibat Estate in which the land was forcefully grabbed from the people of Mbieri,tracking of over N800m diverted through the renovation of Imo State Secretariat, Recovery of the ISOPADEC funds and 13% oil derivation funds which amount to over N20b,a probe into recovery of over    N120b diverted through the failed roads projects (Rochas China Road s), and the recovery of over hundreds of plots of land grabbed by Rochas and his family members from across the State and recovery of IRROMA equipment worth billions of naira looted by Rochas”.  Responding to their demands, Governor Emeka Ihedioha, commended the group on the manner they coordinated themselves in a peaceful way.

He said ” we shall follow due process in the recovery process,I am happy that you have collectively chosen not to take laws into your own hands.Our govt. must follow the constitution. We are poised to make a positive progress.Remain calm and law abiding. With time, we shall fulfill all our campaign promises”.   The Governor, Chief Ihedioha further more stated that his administration would be very responsible in taking actions,even as he frowned at the multiple Revenue Account of over 250 accounts,but expressed delight on the recent Total System Management,TSM, regime in Imo State,which he disclosed would help the Imo economy.

Meanwhile, some group of people under the aegis of “Association of President General of Imo State” from the three senatorial zones of the State, have also commended the Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha for his Rebuild Mission led administration. In their respective words,Comr.Ifeanyi Nkwocha,a President General from Owerri west LGA in Owerri zone,Comr. Julius Emeka Uchegbu,the President General of Osuama Autonomous Community in Isiala Mbano LGA, in Okigwe zone, and Comr.Victor Ibe,the President General of Awa Oguta LGA,in Orlu zone, expressively vowed to support the Governor in his bid towards rebuilding Imo State.

The PG’s moreso called in the  Governor to implement all his campaign promises as it positively  affects the Town Union Governments in Imo State.         In the same vain,a President General of  an Autonomous Community in Owerri west LGA of Imo State,who spoke in anonymity accused Chief Emeka Diwe,who is the President General of all the President Generals in Imo State of running an expired position. He therefore called and appealed to the Governor to took into their leadership and as well conduct an election for the association.  He described Chief Diwe’s led government as an expired tenure which must be replaced. “Chief Diwe have over stayed his tenure and as such we are as members of Imo Association Town Union PG’s are read y for election”,he submitted.
