Aggrieved Toto APC members Accuse Nasarawa Assembly Speaker, Cabinet Member, Lawmaker, DG Pension Bureau of Hijacking Primaries, Ward Congresses
- Decisions of Toto stakeholders Is to carry everybody along- Aide to Speaker
The coordinator, General of Hon. Zakari Shuaibu campaign Organization has described the Chairmanship primaries of Toto Local Government and the ward congresses held in Toto as a mirage.
Suleiman Zubairu AKA Big Boss, a stakeholder of the ruling All Progressives Congress said is the worst ever primaries conducted in the locality, He buttressed that the election in South Africa is more organized than the election in Toto under the watchful eyes and strict directive of Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Honorable Ibrahim Balarabe.
Suleiman Zubairu also accused the State Commissioner of Health, Hon. Pharmacy.Yahaya Baba Ahmed, The Director-General Pension Bureau, Abdullahi Oseze, and the Member Nasarawa State House of Assembly for thwarting the whole process.
He said all the stakeholders from Toto were in Lafia deciding for the majority not consulting the people, Big Boss maintained that everything during the process was shredded in secrecy by the core stakeholders who were involved in the one-sided selection of delegates.
The coordinator, General said the names of strange persons were presented as delegates in last week’s ward congresses.
He called on the State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress to intervene on the matter.
“We urged the State caretaker committee to wade into this illegality exhibited by the above person’s, this became imperative as Toto Local Government Council primaries and ward congresses are concerned’.
An aide to the Speaker, Ibrahim Balarabe who pleaded anonymity averred that the decisions taken were meant to ensure total peace in a Local Government that is enjoying a fragile peace in recent times.
He disclosed that key positions were dominated by only Egbirra while Gade, Bassa, Gbagyi were sidelined from the political space of Nasarawa politics.
According to him,” The Chairmanship candidate of Toto Local Government is a Gade man, saying the frantic effort of the Speaker and other stakeholders was to bring back all the Bassa to Toto Local Government Council that ran away during the tribal skirmishes that erupted the Local Government.
He added that the decision would foster unity amongst Egbirra and Bassa who are seeing themselves as lifetime enemies, He, however, maintained that slut of Councillorship were given to Bassa as a way to lure them back to their place of abode.
The Coordinator General also accused the State Commissioner of health, Pharmacy Ahmed Baba Yahaya of playing a key role in short-changing delegates’ rights in his electoral ward.
The Commissioner, when contacted on phone, said is attending an urgent state event which was Governor Sule’s free medical outreach Obi Local Government.
All efforts to reach the Commissioner on Friday 6th August at his office prove abortive while both text messages and calls were not responded to.
The Member Nasarawa State House of Assembly and the Director-General Pension Bureau, Abdullahi Oseze as at press time did respond also.
Our Correspondent was at the State Secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress when the Coordinator-General, Suleiman Zubairu AKA Big Boss brought the letter to the caretaker committee Chairman, Hon John Waje Mamman.
An impeccable source said the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress at the State level is set to suspend Suleiman Zubairu for violating the protocol for consensus adopted by Toto Local Government.
The State caretaker committee Chairman of the party, John Mamman averred that is not aware of the brawl in Toto and the missing names of candidates under the auspices of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State.
He said he is not aware of the change of names of Councillorship candidates in Sarkin Dawaki, Galadima, and Madauci wards of Doma Local Government Council and Ashegyi electoral ward in Lafia Local Government Council respectively.
He appealed to all those with petitions and complaints to forward their documents to the appeal committee for scrutiny.
The caretaker committee Chairman said consensus is the only way to foster unity in the party, Thanking all those that agreed to consensus during the last Chairmanship and Councillorship primaries.
