Afripeace Team Lead, Prof. Kwaja Embarks On Training In Promoting Peaceful Coexistence In 5 LGAs Of Plateau

A renowned Professor and Team Lead African Initiative for Peace Building Advocacy and Advancement Afripeace Prof. Chris Kwaja, has commenced advocacy training in Plateau State on peace and conflict mitigation by interfacing with critical stakeholders in five local government areas on a strategic policy framework on how to resolve communication barriers and understanding of conflict in sub-Saharan Africa.
The event was held at Bishop court, Jos North LGA of Plateau State on Monday 12, January, 2026.
He emphasized on the process of rebuilding communities and promoting peaceful coexistence amongst the diverse ethnic groups residents in an area through proper communication.
Kwaja admonished the participants to use the training to continue to promote peace and unity in the society because the Afripeace sole aim is for effective communication and encourages internal mechanism.
He stated that afripeace is promoting peace and unity by working hard to ensure that justice is served to all and sundry, as appreciated the positive aspects of traditional rules in managing the peace.
According to him, the training became necessary to ensure that people live in peace with one another across tribes and religious divides.
He commended the First Class Chairman of Riyom LGA, HRH, Yakubu Chaimang, for his unwavering support in promoting peace and unity in spite of the insecurity bedevilling the council.
Kwaja noted that the traditional ruler had encouraged the promotion of community healthy communication, and he ensured that the people imbibe the spirit of tolerance and understanding.
He employed the people to speak with one voice by emphasizing that people most invest in peace building and talk to each other in love and understanding of conflict.
