A corruption scandal is currently rocking African Democratic Congress, ADC, as National Chairman of the party is alleged to have been bribed with millions of Naira to replace the party’s flag bearer, Dr. Richard ponkap Bature  with a sacked former Director of Industrial Training Fund, ITF , Mr. Joseph Bitrus as the  candidate for Plateau Governorship race.

Universal Reporters findings reveal that Joe Bitrus allegedly approached the ADP chairman Ambassador Nanyah Andrew Daman and as he refused him, Joseph Bitrus immediately wrote a petition that led to his suspension as the party chairman in Plateau state, as this was still not going well in his favour he ran to ADC national leadership to blackmail Dr. Richard Ponkap Bature as it was alleged that he bribed the National Leadership.

The state Chairman of ADC, Sabiu Ibrahim Musa and the Secretary, Alhaji Rabiu Kabiru  told our reporter that the conducted primaries for all the aspirants including that of the gubernatorial on the 6th October, 2018 in the presence of INEC ,Media , and security without any crises, “but to our greatest surprise what we are hearing at the national secretariat is that One Mr. Joseph Bitrus who has never been a card carrier of the party has substituted Dr. Richard Nature who is the only candidate screened.

They said that, they are surprised with the development that took place to replace a candidate that has contributed his resources and time to build the party in the state only for the National Chairman, Chief Rauf Okey Nwosu to bring someone who is not even a card carrier of the party, the party denied that they didn’t know him as the ADC candidate in Plateau state.

“We don’t know who Joseph Bitrus is even if he comes in here now, we don’t understand what is going on with the national leadership, we never submitted anyone’s name because Richard Bature was screened and voters endorsed him as the sole candidate.

“There is no communication right now from the national secretariat but INEC was going to display the list of qualified candidates for the 2019 general election which we faulted the exercise where non-members hijacked the gubernatorial candidate without him officially paying the amount required to fulfill the condition.

They explained that section 13 m  sub-sections 11 of the party constitution states that the executive has the right to conduct primary for aspirants vying for elective position under the platform of ADC.

“We are calling on the National Secretariat to reverse and write INEC that the candidate earlier presented was by error.

It would be recalled that the sacked Deputy Director of ITF was alleged to have been collecting a director salary as well in so many contracts frauds and illegal selling of Federal Government Housing Estate in Plateau, he was alleged to have forcefully ejected the occupants of the Housing Estate who were predominantly indigenes.

The case amongst many was a house No 24, 2nd Avenue where he used his position to brutalized, beat, ejected the original owner by sending them to prison which there are documents available to buttress this.
