Adamawa Deputy Governor’s Rumours Of Defection Is Malicious-State Govt

Adamawa state Government refuted a story regarded as ”fake news” purporting that the Deputy Governor,Rt Hon Martins Nasir Babale has finalised plans to defect to an opposition political Party in the State.

Commissioner of Information and strategic, Comrade Ahmad Sajoh in a press statements Said the purported story is been manufactured by promoters of fake news.

“These are false, malicious and calculated attempts to derail the exceptionally acceptable campaign process of His Excellency the Governor which had already signified overwhelming victory for Governor Bindow and the APC in the 2019 elections.” He said

Sajoh further Said that the government do not want to join issues with the promoters of such fake news,or impugn any motives for their action other than”blackmail and malice.”

“We wish to reiterate that the position of Adamawa State Government on the matter is already made very clear by non-other than His Excellency Governor Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla Bindow. The Governor is recorded to have announced publicly that he has no rift whatsoever with his deputy and never had such at any time during their relationship.

” The Governor equally expressed confidence in the person of Rt Hon Martins Nasir Babale as his deputy as well as acknowledged his loyalty as an able and capable lieutenant. ” Sajoh added

Sajoh revealed that the fake news was emanated as a result of difficulty in understanding the campaign style. Bindo decided that his campaign proceed in teams with Team A headed by him,Team B headed by the deputy Governor and such other teams as may be necessary.

According the new campaign style is an innovation intended to ensure that while the campaigns are ongoing the governance process is not totally neglected.

“We wish to state categorically that while all other gubernatorial candidates are just candidates, His Excellency Sen Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla Bindo is both a candidate and a sitting Governor of the state, while his running mate Rt Hon. Martin Nasir Babale is the Deputy Governor of the state. With a subsisting mandate which must be fulfilled at all times, their Excellencies have to device means and strategies to ensure that governance is not jettisoned at any point in time.”
