Adamawa State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC  has distanced itself from the governorship aspiration of the Nuhu Ribadu as well as that of Dr. Mahmood Halilu Ahmed the younger brother of Aisha Buhari while expressing their unalloyed support and backing to the Governorship ambition of Adamawa State Governor Umaru Jibrilla Bindow who is seeking a second term.

The SWC of the party also agreed to back governor Umaru Jibrilla Bindow as its consensus candidate  for the 2019 general polls.

Speaking during a meeting of the SWC of the party where it took the resolution the chairman of the party Ibrahim Bilal who announced the resolution at the party secretariat on Saturday in Yola restated their commitment to work for Buhari’s reelection bid, as he said; “we have all resolved to pick you Bindow as consensus candidate.

“The 21 local government party chairmen, ex-SEC, and other stakeholders have asked me to announced it to you in order to reciprocate your gesture that no vacancy for those who are aspiring against you.

“We resolved to unanimously endorse as our consensus candidate. In Adamawa, we are all for Bindow.

“Let the national working committee adopt any option, direct or indirect, we will not be rattled,” he said.

The party chairman while daring the national secretariat of the party said, “Tell Abuja that we can’t be removed as exco so there is no cause for alarm and we are for Bindow.”

Governor Bindow at the forum accused previous administrations of leaving a backlog of 7 months salaries adding that it took serious determination for his administration to offset the backlog of the salary noting that the state government is not owing any civil servant salary as at now.

“We run prudent government and saw the need to bring development to the grass root hence embarking on people’s oriented projects.

“Those who are fighting us are doing so for their selfish interests and envy. If reelection we shall redouble our efforts in serving the populace,” he said.
