The inter religious dialogue a faith based organizations in Jos North Local Government Area supported by King Abdallah Bin Abdul-Azeez Center for Inter-Religious and Inter-Cultural Dialogue has organized interface between the Muslims and Christians youth to enlighten them on the danger of corona virus spread in Jos North Local Government Council .
The National President NACOMYO, Sani Suleiman Maigoro advised the youths to ensure that they adhere strictly to the government laydown procedure of hand washing ,maintaining social distances, facemask order .
He explained the importance aspect of this workshop is to engage our scholars , clerics to further more enlighten them for them to educate their followers .
We encourage our religious practitioners to use their pulpit or worship centres, to prevent the wild spread of the COVID-19 for the safety of citizens.
Maigoro reiterated that the need for inter faith collaboration between the Muslims and Christians youth in the area is for them to complement the effort of government and health workers to curb the spread or the transmission of COVID-19 .
According to him ,this decision was taken during a one day workshop on COVID-19: Muslim and Christian youths unite against community transmission
He said, each religion encourages us to maintain good hygiene and to respect people in authority, and also not to spread diseases around. Religious leaders have the responsibility of educating their followers to accept and commit to this call as it is in conformity with their faith .
Director of Justice, Peace and Reconciliation Movement (JPRM) that hosted the workshop, Mrs Justina Nwobia charges the youths to work together in their various communities to disabuse the minds of the people that are yet to believe with the pandemic.
There was an interfaith dialogue session where the participants shares experiences during lockdown and the selfless services they rendered.
