Abduction: Governor Bello Orders Immediate Closure Of Boarding Schools In Four LGAs In Niger

The Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has directed the immediate closure of boarding schools in four (4) local Government areas in the State.

The Governor stated this in a State Broadcast at the Government House following the abduction of 27 students of Government Science College Kagara, some staff and members of their families.

The local government affected with the closure are  Rafi, Mariga, Munya and Shiroro local government areas.

According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor,  Mary Noel-Berje, she added that Governor Sani Bello said all options will be implored to ensure the release of all that have been abducted but however maintained that the state government will not pay ransome as it is not the policy of the state government, saying it is to discourage the kidnappers from using the proceeds to purchase more weapons.
