88 Local Government Staffs In Nasarawa Fails Promotion Examinations

The chairman Local Government Service Commission, Sani Bawa has revealed that 88 Local Government staff that sat for promotion examination in January 2020 failed the examination conducted by the Academic Staff College of Nigeria.

 

The chairman gave the disclosure during an exclusive interview with selected Journalists, he explained that a total of 701 Local Government civil servants sat for the exams.

While given the breakdown, Honorable Sani Bawa maintained that 41 have the distinction, 131 with credit, 185 with merit, 249 having passes, 88 civil servants failed the promotion examination while 7 absconded.

“Scores from 0 to 39 percent is failed, 40 percent is passing, and 50 scores to 59 is merit while 70 to 90 is the distinction”.

Adding that the result of the examination was released on the 4th of September, 2020.

He further said the Local Government Service Commission organized tutorial by Universities and Polytechnic lecturers.

The chairman said for the past no promotion examination was conducted if not during the reign of the governor, Abdullahi Sule.

“Promotion examination only holds once in three years and for that, we are expecting another set of civil servants for promotion examination by January 2023.

He gave the assurance that the Commission has embarked on training and would soon organize another round of workshops so as to enhance the capacity of workers.

Sani Bawa further reeled out some of the commitment of the Commission to include given financial support to those going for further studies.
