Rabiu Omaku
Her name is Hajara Danyaro, a woman politician from Nasarawa Central constituency of Nasarawa Local Government, way back during the second term of the former Governor of the State, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura was appointed as a Special Adviser to the Governor on Gender Inequality.
7 years after being fired by the Fourth Assembly under the able leadership of her cousin, Hon Ahmed Musa Mohammed (PDP) for criticizing the lawmakers she became a lawmaker despite all challenges as the only womenfolk in the 7th Assembly.
People that are meeting her for the first time described her in negative ways but you meet her on the second occasion can portray her in a positive way, she is a compassionate woman but at times can be difficult to take decisions.
Danyaro is a member elected under the auspices of the ruling party, The All Progressives Congress, she was amongst the foot soldiers of the then Governor and now Senator representing Nasarawa South Senatorial zone.
The question now is can she take it likely with lovers of Governor Abdullahi Sule in the same House today being dominated by the oppositions parties, The yet to be 7th Assembly has a total of 24 lawmakers, out of the 24 members, and the APC has 11 members The PDP has 8, The SDP 3 and the NNPP won 2 seats of the Assembly.
Hajara Danyaro was lay-off from her position by the PDP-controlled 5th Assembly led by Hon. Ahmed Mohammed who is from the same Nasarawa central constituency under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.
Danyaro, the only female lawmaker in the 7th Assembly is a core defender of Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, especially during the hit of his impeachment saga that nearly consumed him.
She was a talk of the town and a topic of discussion under the PDP-controlled House of Assembly under the leadership of Hon speaker, Ahmed Mohammed who came from the same constituency as her.
Danyaro however shifted her unflinching loyalty to the incumbent Governor of the State and was made the Special Adviser to the Governor of Nasarawa State on Inter-Party Affairs.
With the emergence of Hon. Hajara Danyaro as the only female lawmaker under the auspices of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
It could be recalled that Danyaro had a running battle with her rival and the current member representing Nasarawa Central Hon. Ismaila Baba, a core loyalist to the immediate past Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Ahmed Tijjani Aliyu.
She has broken the jinx of making the House of Assembly a completely man-dominated House, making her the second woman to pedal the affairs of Nasarawa central constituency.
Hon. Mary Emwogulu is the first female lawmaker during the reign of Aliyu Akwe Doma (Madauchin Doma) under the PDP.
Unconfirmed sources say she was amongst those seeking the exalted seat of the speakership of the House of Assembly.
