7 Political Parties To Participate In October 6,  LGAs Election In Nasarawa State

The electoral umpire of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission has said seven political parties would participate in the forthcoming Local Government Council election slated for October 6, 2021.

The Chairman, Hon. Ayuba Wandai-Usman gave the disclosure in an interview with selected Journalists in Lafia.

He said the commission would begin rigorous training of ad-hoc staff on Monday, September 27 so as to ensure the successful conduct of the election.

Wandai explained that Seven political parties are set to participate in the election by fielding candidates in the 13 Local Government for Chairmanship and 147 Councillorship.

The Chairman said all arrangements for the conduct of the elections all logistics have been concluded within the time frame including funding.

“We are fully funded and have followed our timeline of activities at the appropriate time”.

“I can authoritatively say we are good to go,”

Wandai buttressed that NASIEC is collaborating with the National Union of Road Transport Workers’ to ensure early and hitch-free transportation of electoral materials to all polling units across the state.

Stating that adequate security arrangements have been made for effective policing of polling units by ensuring that law and order is maintained during and after the election.

Wandai Usman appealed to political parties and their supporters to abide by the rule of the game in order to ensure a peaceful Local Council election in the state.
