As the 5th edition of Yakubu Mailafiya Peace And Unity Cup kick-started in Nasarawa state,
The Chairman of the competition, Mohammed Dan’azumi has applauded the doggedness of the organizer of the football game.
The Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board disclosed this during the first half of the opening competition between the third-time winners, Chokali Babes, and Lafia Stars Football club.
The Chairman of the competition said the brain behind the game was to promote peace and Unity as the name implies, stating further those other objectives of the competition were to grab talents at the grassroots.
Mohammed Dan’azumi says Mailafiya Peace and Unity Cup serves as a reminder to the State Government to resuscitate primary school games which would be a platform to catch young talents in primary school.
The organizer of the football competition, CSP. Yakubu Mailafiya affirmed that the ongoing football game was part of his community service by promoting peace and unity amongst the youth.
Mailafiya says peace co-existence remains his target in Nasarawa state, adding consulate prices awaits all that participated in the game especially the best players in the competition.
He however maintained that undisclosed prices first, second and third places during the month’s competition which comprises 16 clubs.
Yakubu Mailafiya appreciated all that stood by him to ensure the successful kick-off of the competition.

Club owners and critical stakeholders in the football industry grace the opening match, They include Mohammed Alkali representatives of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ladan Boso under 20 coach, Bar. Danladi Isaac, Chairman Nasarawa United, The female club owner, Hajiya Hauwa, and amongst others.
The competition was slated to end on December 27, 2021, Mohammed Marafa of Chokali Babes of Daddere scored one goal,20 minutes during the first half.
While Lafia Stars, The newcomers into the competition equalized 17 minutes into the second half.
