35,154 Girls Benefit From Agile Programme  In Nasarawa State-Project Coordinator

Hajiya Aishatu Aliyu Isogah, the Nasarawa State Project Coordinator of Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGiLE) has opined that a total of 35,154 female students have benefited from the World Bank conditional cash Transfer in the State under the first cohort for 2024-2025.

Madam Aishatu disclosed to Journalists that the second cohort of the programme, which is the 2025-2026 cohort, a total of 19,771 were enrolled in the State.

She gave the hint during an exclusive interview with selected Journalists at her office at Government Science Secondary School, Lafia, said students benefited from N40,000 as transition and school fees for each student.

While fielding questions on the enrollment of female students, Lafia, the State Capital, has the highest number of enrollees out of the eleven Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State that are participating in the project.

Hajiya Aishatu said two Local Governments of Toto and Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State were excluded from Agile programme.

“One important task ahead of us was attendance tracking to know more about the actual number of female students in school before the commencement of payment of transition and registration fee”.

She affirmed that over 400 schools benefited from renovation excluding the sinking of boreholes and toilets across the State.

The Coordinator opined that agile is making a frantic effort for the payment of timely fee for the first and second cohorts, respectively.

When asked who is qualified to enroll in the programme, the State programme coordinator affirmed that any female students from Awe, Akwanga, Doma, Keana, Kokona, Keffi,Karu, Lafia,Obi,Wamba, Nasarawa, and Nasarawa Eggon.

Hajiya Aishatu Aliyu Isogah, during an interview, said over 250 Secondary schools were renovated out of 490 existing schools in the State.

She averred that Agile has sunk over 400 boreholes and toilets across the State

She warned construction firms about shabby contractors, adding that any contractor who embarked on shabby work would face the consequences of his or her actions.
