The second phase of Ganduje Mass Economic Empowerment Programme (G-MEEP) distributing empowerment tools to 1560 beneficiaries across the 44 local government areas of the state was launched in the State on Thursday by Kano Governor Umar Ganduje.
The tools distributed were 520 sewing machines, 520 barbing kits including small generators and 520 popcorn making equipment, and all were given N10,000 as to startup capital.
This brings the total to over 5000 beneficiaries. During the first batch programme over 3500 women and youth were empowered in the 1st phase of the programme.
The Governor also distributed 44 motorbikes and office equipment to Films and Censorship Board for the supervision of all viewing centres in the state to ensure compliance with laid down rules and regulations of the agency as well as generate revenue from the viewing centres.
