The Nasarawa State Executives, elected and appointed officials, and critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Nasarawa State have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.
This is just as the stakeholders equally backed Governor Abdullahi Sule for the Nasarawa North senatorial seat, and adopted Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as the party’s preferred aspirant for the 2027 Governorship election in Nasarawa State.
These decisions were part of the resolutions reached at a high-level stakeholders meeting held on Friday at the VIP Guest House in Akwanga, presented by Barrister Hassan Abubakar, State Organizing Secretary of the APC.
The parley brought together party leaders, elected and appointed officials drawn from the three Local Government Areas of Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon, and Wamba, as well as representatives from all 35 electoral wards that make up the senatorial district.
The meeting, which was held with Governor Sule, who hails from Gudi in Akwanga Local Government Area, followed extensive deliberations that touched on the political direction of the zone ahead of the 2027 general elections.
At the end of the meeting, stakeholders commended Governor Sule for sustaining the existing, though unwritten, zoning arrangement in Nasarawa State, which they said has remained a stabilising pillar for equity, justice, and political balance in the state since the return of democracy.
On the Governorship, the meeting formally endorsed Senator Wadada as the preferred APC aspirant in the forthcoming party primaries, bringing the position of Nasarawa North into alignment with Governor Sule’s earlier declaration of Wadada as his preferred successor.
Participants at the meeting pledged total support towards Senator Wadada’s emergence as the APC flagbearer and his ultimate victory at the general election.
The stakeholders also passed a vote of confidence in Governor Sule’s leadership and endorsed him as the APC candidate for the Nasarawa North senatorial seat in 2027, reaffirming the zone’s backing for its own son to continue in public service at the federal level after the conclusion of his tenure as Governor.
On the presidency, the meeting reiterated its support for President Tinubu’s second term bid, citing his leadership and the ongoing reforms of his administration as reasons for the endorsement.
The meeting equally reaffirmed the unity, loyalty, and cohesion of stakeholders across the zone, with a collective commitment to strengthen grassroots mobilisation in all wards ahead of the elections.
Participants ratified the zone’s strategic political direction and campaign framework for 2027, and called on the people of Nasarawa North to redouble their efforts towards the continued dominance of the APC in the State and across Nigeria.
The meeting concluded with a renewed resolve among all those present to work together in unity towards the continued progress of Nasarawa State and the decisive victory of the APC at all levels in 2027.
