The majority leader in the house of representatives Alhaji Alhassan Ado Doguwa said it is imperative for northern legislators to support the region against all odds for it to succeed.
Alhaji Alhassan Ado who stated this Sunday during the empowerment programme to support over 695 women and youths at Mallam Madori by the rep member from the area Alhaji Makki Abubakar Yanleman.
The leader said, “the North, especially Kano and Jigawa are in the forefront of producing capable representatives, that have over the years cause harmony and direction at the assembly”.
He said, “the north owes us the fundamental right to defend the region from any form of incursion either political or otherwise that could jeopardize the unity, peace, and coexistence of the region”, he stated.
He said Jigawa lawmakers have distinguished themselves in the concern of their people which explained why they resort to the massive empowerment programmes in the various areas by them, he declared.
Alhaji Alhassan Doguwa said the north especially Kano and Jigawa have been blessed for the exemplary representation the region is getting from the representative assuring that that has been the motivating factor for his dogged support for the two states.
Earlier, a house of representatives member from Malam Madori/Kaugama constituency Alhaji Makki Abubakar Yanlleman supported 695 members of his constituency with various empowerment support.
The member who donated two cheques of N5 million each to Mallam Madori and Kaugama local governments at Mallam Madori council of the state said the money would be shared amongst 200 others to enable them erk a living.
Alhaji Makki Abubakar also donated 20 vehicles, 100 motorcycles, 10 tricycles, 135 sewing machines, 59 grinding machines, 50 vulcanizers, 50 water pumps, 50 generators, 30 laptops among others.
The lawmaker who tagged the occasion as, ‘freeing Jigawa youth, women from poverty through empowerment program’ said the support was inspired by the mentorship he gets from the governor of the State Alhaji Muhammed Badaru Abubakar and his zeal in the uplifting of the people from poverty.
Governor Alhaji Muhammed Badaru Abubakar who apart from commending the member for the empowerment program challenged other members from the state to emulate Alhaji Makki Abubakar.
