The New Northern Initiative for Growth (INNG) has said that the presidential candidate of the People Democratic party PDP and the former vice president Alhaji Atiku Abubakar the Wazirin Adamawa is not the preferred candidate ahead of the forthcoming general election to come in 2023.
In a press statement at the Nigerian Union Of Journalist Secretariat on Tuesday in Bauchi, insisted that Atiku is not the Northern preferred candidate.
The leader of the group Comrade Alkasim Nuhu Abdulkadir said that the flag-bearer Atiku Abubakar has never ever had any concern for North beyond exploiting the region’s resources, it’s only for his personal political capital.
“We must work hard against the victory of the people Democratic party PDP presidential flag-bearer, Atiku Abubakar” Abdulkadir said.
Abdulkadir further said that supporting the presidential candidate of the People Democratic party Atiku as a sole northern Candidate on the basis of sentiments will put the region out of political circulation permanently which is what the so-called northern leaders out of desperate greed for self-perpetuation are opting for.
He added that “Atiku who has risen on the goodwill of the northerners can not today boast of any wonderful development the residential flag-bearer has ever influenced personally or through the high offices he has held”
” It is important for the people of northern Nigeria to kick against and withdraw into the lost battle of pitching all its eggs in one basket since Atiku’s antecedents of non-performance throughout his tenure as the vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria have made him unreasonable and a major risk for the North”
The leader of the group Alkasim Nuhu Abdulkadir further said that Atiku is only sponsoring capitalists in the northern leaders with no record of achieving anything in the region to manipulate the conscience of the northerner in believing that he is a true northerner, with good intentions for the region, whereas the opposite is the case.
