The Imo State Executive Council at its meeting on  Wednesday 17th Nov. 2021, approved a supplementary budget of N31.9 billion for the year 2021 for sundry expenditures incurred during the year.

The supplementary budget, which has been sent to the Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA) for necessary action, would in addition to others, settle expenditures incurred in the course of combating the insecurity witnessed in the State recently.

Despite the limited resources at the disposal of the State, there was an urgent need to arrest the ugly monster that reared its head against the people of Imo State. However, this came at a cost, hence the supplementary budget as proposed.

In the same vein and in keeping with the commitment of the State Government to sustain and improve on the current security network of the state, the Government would be launching the Imo State Security Network in the coming days.

A conjugation of other security outfits of the State vis-a-vis Community Policing, Imo State Vigilante etc, the Imo State Security Network would complement the existing security arrangement in order to offer robust security of lives and properties of Imolites especially with the Yuletide season at hand.
