The immediate past Imo State Governor, Chief Dr.Ikedi Ohakim, who is also the Guber candidate of Accord Party for the 2019 election, yesterday,Jan.10th 2019,held a town hall meeting with all the members of Civil Society where he officially unveiled a Comprehensive Primary Health Delivery Policy for Imo people, when re-elected as Governor Rochas Okorocha’s successor, come May 29th, 2019.
The event which took place at All Seasons Hotels Owerri, where so many respected Imo sons and daughters gathered in one accord especially the professional health workers who were the major targeted audience as part of those whom he would never take for granted, when he is elected as Imo Governor in 2019.
The unveiling ceremony was a huge success under the distinguished chairmanship of the former Imo governorship candidate of UPP in 2015,Dr.Osmond Ukanacho,who in his remark commended Dr.Ohakim for his leadership vision to return as the next Imo Governor.
At the ceremony, Chief Ohakim officially unveiled Dr.Godwin Duru, as the Chairman of his 2019 Campaign Council, whereas Lady Ann Dozie, was also officially unveiled as Imo Accord Deputy Governor.
Speaking, the Accord Party Guber Candidate, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim,said his programme primary health care delivery to Imo people was triggered and motivated because of the high rate of mortality in the state for the past 7 to 8 years under the administration of the outgoing Imo Governor, Rochas Okorocha, whom he described his govt.as a total failure.
The Accord Party standard bearer, Dr. Ohakim,therefore he is poised and passionate to implement all his leadership policies especially on the primary health care delivery which he described as the most paramount in his government, when re-elected as Governor Rochas Okorocha’s successor,come May 29th 2019,when he would be sworn-in as Imo Governor, by the special grace of God.
Ohakim said ” for over 7-8 years of Governor Rochas Okorocha’s alleged Rescue Mission administration, there are now increasing and high rate mortality death in the state because his govt.have completely kept all the general hospitals in disarray. People are dying on daily basis. There now increase in the funeral industries as one the most lucrative business in Imo State. There is unnecessary mass death everywhere in the state under Okorocha’s watch as a Governor”.
He, therefore, frowned bitterly against the alleged anti-people’s policy of the present Imo Government, but appealed to Imolites to support and vote for him under Accord Party as Governor, come Feb/March 2019.
” I am coming to answer names. nor ‘am I coming to make money, rather I am coming to repair, recover, resuscitate and rebuild Imo State, its economy, human beings and wipe away tears from the eyes of the people especially the poorest of the poor, the downtrodden, the orphanage and resurrect the lost glory of the state. I am coming to serve Imo better. Amongst the 67 political party Guber candidates aspiring to be Imo Governor in 2019, I am the best, tested, trusted and I have all it takes to bring back Imo to its normal positions in Nigeria in all ramifications. My second coming as Governor is because Imo people have suffered set back, people are crying and lamenting over bad leadership over the years. There is a danger now in Imo politics but I am the only solution to the problem of the state. People should come out and join me. I am going to make Imo people smile again with all my policies and blueprints”, he disclosed.
Chief Ohakim said Imo is technically dead and needs someone like him with great leadership experience to restore.
He noted that his journey back to Imo Douglas House is to reduce the mortality rate by 60%, increase productivity by 50%, reduced mortality rate by 60% and increase education standard by 50%.
” When elected as Governor, my government will spend N1 billion each month on health to reduce death rate”, he boasted.
” I am going to restore the Clean and Green Initiative, where the people leave in a good environment that will enable development in all sectors of his administration”, he maintained.
Chief Ohakim furthermore revealed that his administration shall establish what he called “Imo State Face Insurance Scheme, ISBIS” which must be passed into law.
He said his govt.will establish the office of General Surgeon who would care for the general health care of Imo people.
Dr.Ohakim told Imolites that his government, when elected shall generate about N500 million for each month through his health insurance premium scheme from N500 per head/per month as a tax which will in one year amount to N6000 per person annually.
” I will be a better governor because I have been tested, trusted and experienced”, Chief Ohakim said.
