The Imo Action Alliance guber candidate, Hon.Uche Nwosu, has rejected the whole outcome.
Last Tuesday, March 12th 2019 in Owerri,Hon.Nwosu, expressively rejected the announcement by INEC and called for the legal implementation of 1/4 (25% of the votes casts) in 2/3rd majority of the total number of the 27 LGA’s in Imo State.
Hon.Nwosu said”following the electoral law and the constitution of Nigeria, that Ihedioha, PDP did not make up to (did not win election) 13 LGA’s out of the entire 27 LGA’s of Imo State. I made more than even 15 LGA’s but the INEC REC, Prof. Francise Ezeonu went ahead and declare the PDP candidate winner. The INEC Imo State Returning Officer, Prof.Francise Otunta, from FUTO, listened to them and conspired against his victory. The RO knows about the 2/3rd electoral percentage but he ignored the issue of reaching the constitution of the land, which he knew was done in an error. Even when he was advised to follow the law, he went ahead and declared Ihedioha winner. We will follow it up to the Court of Tribunal. It is a matter of time, our mandate would give back to us in AA. Because it is a constitutional matter”,Nwosu submitted.
The AA candidate therefore thanked Imolites from the 27 LGA’s for their doggedness in voting for AA and all the AA candidates in the last guber election.
“The issue of acquiring high number of votes in the 3 LGA’s of Mbaise Nation by PDP must be challenged in the court. Because you can not give yourself votes”,Nwosu noted.
He alleged that the Imo REC and the State RO was compromised in pulling he down.
“Be it known to you that the REC is a staunch member of PDP. He knows very well that the Card Readers was not used at Mbaise Nation (the three LGA’s,Aboh,Ahiazu and Ezinihitte),but he went ahead with those results. It is totally unacceptable,he (REC) has finished his own part,we are going to the Tribunal,which we believe that they as a law court,will give us the final decision. It is a constitutional matter and nobody is above the law of the land. Both the REC and the RO shall be invited to the court to prove why they ignored the constitution of Nigeria”,he pointed out.
“We shall reclaim our mandate. Imolites should be calm. Nothing has gone wrong,be strong. We are still popular,we are going to grab our stolen mandate. The REC is a PDP man. We all know that very well but I have assured him that my mandate he taught he can give another person shall be reclaimed back”,he insisted.
He urged INEC and the apex leadership of electoral commission in Nigeria not to allow that Imo REC,Prof.Ezeonu,to conduct any election in his life again,because he has compromised and his worthy doing election in Nigeria.
Hon.Nwosu said ” for you to be declared winner as Imo Governor,you must meet upto 2/3rd of the 27 LGA’s,that you must got 18 LGA’s,but the PDP candidate did not even made up to 13 LGA’s. I made morethan 15 LGA’s. The RO and Imo REC knows about that”.
Meanwhile,the Imo PDP Guber Candidate,Hon.Emeka Ihedioha,who is now the Imo-Governor-Elect,expressed delight to be announced by INEC as the winner of the Imo Guber Polls.
Hon.Ihedioha,while speaking thanked Imolites for voting him into power as Governor-elect,even as he described his victory by INEC as divine.
Chief Ihedioha therefore assured the people of Imo State of all-inclusive governance as Governor.
