As the political campaign for the 2019 general elections commenced, many political parties candidates and their thousands of followers and supporters have begun to show various signs that the era of political anti-party is history.
In Imo State, one of the embattled Imo APC governorship aspirants, Hon. Uche Nwosu, who is the son-in-law to the Imo State Governor, today in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, made his governorship vision known to Imolites and Nigerians that he is ready, willing and passionate to believer the APC Presidential Candidate, Muhammadu Buhari ,meanwhile he has defected to Action Alliance, AA, a party where he secured his governorship ticket to succeed his father-in-law, come 2019, according to him.
Upon his defection from APC to AA, so many Imo people especially who are from APC, SNP, APGA, and PDP have accused Hon. Uche Nwosu of playing anti-party ahead of the next year’s general elections.
Speaking, as he arrived Owerri from Abuja today, Tuesday, Dec.4th 2018, Hon. Uche Nwosu (Ugwumba 1 of Obiere in Nkwerre LGA of Imo State) expressed satisfaction to emerged as the Imo AA Guber Candidate for the 2019 polls and thanked all the members of the party and those from APC who trooped out en masse to welcome him from the Airport.
“Now I am happy, my mind, my spirit, and my heart are relaxed with AA. I am going to continue my support for President Buhari’s re-election and my father-in-law, Rochas Okorocha, who is going to become the Orlu Zone Senator under APC in 2019, while I will run for governorship under AA. They stole my mandate in APC, do not vote for APC for governor, he told all his political supporters, fans, and lovers. APC in Imo State must not produce Governor in 2019 but APC will win Orlu Senate. The man with Imo APC Guber ticket as a candidate is a criminal. I have forgotten about the impunity and imposition of candidates in APC by their National Chairman, Adams Oshiohmole. It is an old story, a forgotten issue. I am now in AA to move Imo State forward”, Nwosu submitted.
Hon. Nwosu disclosed that the Speaker of the Imo House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.Acho Ihim and 22 other State lawmakers are with him in AA.
Moreso, the Imo AA Guber candidate, Hon. Nwosu lamented bitterly over the emergence of those he described as Otokoto men as Guber candidates from APC, APGA, and PDP. He expressed worry concerning their candidacy but appealed to Imo people to overlook them during as they embark on campaigns.
He clearly kicked against the candidacy of Chief Emeka Ihedioha, of PDP, that of Sen.Ifeanyi Araraume, of APGA, and that of APC, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, reiterated that they belonged to a criminal gang to rip off the economy of Imo State, if any of them are elected as Governor. He warned Imo electorates to beware of such men whom he allegedly described as criminals, evil men, and outlaws who do not have the general interest at heart. He, therefore, gave more warning to Imo people to desist and reject any offer from those men from other political parties even as he tagged them as cabals who are into the business of obtaining by tricks, OBT and members of the 419 cartels.
He charged Imolites to join into AA as the elections draw very close, even as he assured that his government if elected, shall disappoint them.
“I am happy you people know my political antecedents and capable. I am going to consolidate with the led transparent leadership of the Rescue Mission government of Gov.Rochas Okorocha to seek continuity”, he concluded.
Responding, the Imo AA State Party Chairman, Hon. Uchendu Ahaneku, expressed excitement to have Hon. Uche Nwosu in their mixed as a candidate of the party. He described him as a respected young politician who loves the people. He is capable; he knows the road to the Imo Government House. He is a youth very vibrant. He can deliver. He is tested and trusted. Imo has fully collapsed into AA with Uche. His ticket is divine. AA is number one party and our party has come to rule Imo, come 2019”, he pointed out.
The Imo AA party chairman, Ahaneku, however, handed over his party flag to Hon. Nwosu as the 2019 Imo Guber flagbearer and charged him to go and win the election.
Meanwhile, the Imo APC Organising Secretary, Hon. Kenneth Emelu, in his words, today in Owerri, expressed delight to support Nwosu in AA.
He said “I am still in APC but my blood runs in AA because of Uche”, Emelu stated.
Also, at the Sam Mbakwe Airport Owerri, the Imo House of Assembly member for Oguta, under APC, Hon. Henry Ezediaro confirmed that about 22 lmo lawmakers have defected to AA, including the Speaker, Acho Ihim.
He said,” while we are now in AA, will all support and vote for Buhari in APC”.
Continued, the immediate past Transition Committee Chairman for Ikeduru, Hon. Okameme Anyaehie described the exit of Nwosu from APC into AA as a welcome development.
He promised to deliver him in the 2019 polls.
Hon. Anyaehie, therefore, encouraged Ugwumba Nwosu to remain focus in his political bid to become the next Imo Governor.
He called on the people of Ikeduru in particular and Imolites, in general, to vote for AA, come 2019.
