2018 Imo Carnival: Okorocha, Wife, Cruises N60 Million Power Bike In Owerri Amidst Jubilation, While Imo Pensioners Are Yet To Paid-Group

As part of his efforts in ensuring  that Imo State is regarded, seen and acknowledged as one of the most tourist states in Nigeria, Governor Rochas Okorocha, on Sunday Dec.23rd 2018,made the 2018 Imo Carnival open in Owerri.

The activities though was a welcome development but motorists, passersby and other road users especially heavy trucks plying through the major roads into the Owerri capital city saw hail as the carvinal process crippled and shot down all the vehicular activities which lasted over 8-10 hours.

Roads majorly affected includes: the Owerri/Onitsha express way, Owerri/ Port Harcourt Road, down to Control post and moved down to Assumpta Avenue, Bank Road, Wethdral Road even as it affected Owerri/Okigwe Road. The ever busy Douglas Roads and so many other streets in Owerri were locked up to the extent pedestrians found it very difficult to locate their destinations.

Meanwhile, the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and wife, Nkechi Okorocha, joined the moving carnival trains in display of their newly purchased power bike allegedly worth over N60 million according one of the renowned Youth Activists Group, Hon. Comrade Christian Anyagwa, aka Dego.

Comr.Dego while speaking alleged that Governor Rochas is busy making merry, rejoicing in the name of Imo Carnival whereas pensioners and civil servants are lamenting and dying of hunger discourtesy of none-payment of pensions arrears over years.

“Yes, I did not say that he should not host his carnival things but I am happy with the height of deceit, ungodly pattern of his supposed Rescue Mission led government. We are celebrating 2018 Xmas in the whole world, but the Governor is busy living a luxury life. Do you know that some families cannot even afford to buy half bag of rice because they have retired civil servants owed huge amount of money? I am speaking to let all the Journalists like you to publicize the evil actions of Governor Rochas whom he described as the outgoing Governor of the state. Tell him to stop wasting our public funds”, he submitted.

“Okey, can you just imagine the power bike he is cruising while millions of Imo people are dying due to hunger, starvation and his anti-people’s policies?”, the Group leader asked.
