- Government voted N1.3bn for electrification
No fewer than sixty five (65) rural communities across the state including outstanding Local government and Development Area headquarters, the state commissioner for budget and planning has said.
Dr.Othman Ibrahim Ahmed stated this during this year’s budget breakdown, he said the state government would spend N1bn for the development /reinforcement of power transmission infrastructure in the state-Engineering, Procurement and construction of Lafia (Akurba) 2/150MVA, 330/132KV substation with 1/75MVA shunt reactor as well as 2/60MVA, 142/33KV substation
He further affirmed that a whooping N100m would be expended on development of strategic master plan for Energy and Power Security of the state while N200m would be spend on Nasarawa State Rural Electrification Master Plan -Extension of National grid.
Dr Ahmed explained that N400m was voted for the construction of rural feeder roads development/reinforcement of power Transmission infrastructure, adding that N30m was earmarked for the provision of power /lighting in schools and TV viewing centres within the state.
