2015 Presidential Election: JNI Congratulates Nigerians

Following the announcement of results of the long awaited Presidential elections by the Electoral Umpire, JNI congratulates Nigerians for their doggedness, courage, resilience, maturity, and above all, persistent prayers for a credible and hitch free Presidential Elections.
Despite all anxieties, worries and uncertainties, Nigerians patiently waited for the D-day and spoke with their votes, gently and peacefully, and thus made a landmark in Nigeria’s political-history.
JNI therefore reiterates its call for peace and urge all and sundry to go about their lawful businesses and remain calm and law abiding. This is a time for sober reflection, humility to Allah the Exalted, gratitude and glorification to Him.
The JNI therefore, wishes to advise that wreckless and rough celebrations and indecorous utterances should be avoided by all Nigerians so that our gratitudes and glorifications would be accepted by the Almighty. On the other hand, we congratulate and rejoice with the new President elect and strongly call on him to fear Allaah (SWT) in his stewardship, and be just and fair to all Nigerians regardless of their tribes or religious affinity. He should consider his victory as victory for Nigeria.
The doggedness of the electoral Umpire, its decorum, hardwork and sacrifice is also commendable. Indeed all Nigerians should be grateful to Allaah (SWT) for His clemency on our country for passing through the tough time of the Presidential Election. It is our hope that the last lap of the elections in a couple of days would be the same.
By and large, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan deserves commendation for his statesmanship at this critical moment of political turmoil for conceding defeat. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
Dr. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu
Secretary-General
