19 Local Government Areas in Jigawa state has received agricultural support from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with National Emergency Management Agency and Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency for the 2020 flood disaster that affected farmers in the 19 LGAs of the state.
This was confirmed by the State SEMA Secretary Alhaji Sani Yusif Babura at the occasion for the distribution of 3000 Hybrid layers to 100 farmers alongside three hundred bags of chicken feed free of charge.
Sani Yusif said animals feed; vaccine and insecticide will also be given to 100 farmers.
The support given to farmers is part of the federal government gesture on food security to assist the farmers across the 36 state of the federation in line with federal government policy.
According to the Executive Secretary the Seed Include, Rice , Beans, cowpea and Maize as well as Guinea Corn was earlier distributed to affected farmers across the 19 local government areas in the state.
Babura charged the farmers to desist from the habit of selling the materials given to them free of charge, asking them to utilized items given to them for their own benefits.
