20 Killed In Barkin Ladi, Plateau

kaduna-crisis-newNo fewer than 20 People has been confirmed dead in Sunday attacks at  Zakupwang, Fan Villages Foron District and Fan District of Barkin Ladi Local Government council of Plateau State.

The attacks was said to have carried out between the hours of 10:pm to 1:am early morning of Sunday leaving houses and properties raided.

The member Representing Barkin Ladi Constituency in  the Plateau State House of Assembly Hon. Peter Gyendeng while confirming the incident condemned the incessant  attacks by suspected herdsmen which has been  occurring  in his Constituency.

He said 13 person were killed at about 10pm in Nding village of Fan-Loh District while eight other Persons were also killed in Zakukpang village of Foron District,  as over eleven House were burnt down as well as destructions of farmland by hired criminals .

The Lawmaker, who was in tears while speaking to this medium yesterday in Jos, decried the level of damage done to innocent civilians.

He appealed to the Federal Government to put an end to the mayhem being carryout daily in the Locality.

“I don’t know why the Federal Government has refused to take action on the incessant attacks in those villages of Barkin Ladi where everyday people are being massacred.

Our correspondent gathered that several other persons who were critically injured are now receiving treatment at various Hospitals in the state.

It would be recalled that few days ago the Plateau state Government set up a 14-man committee, seven each from the Berom and Fulani communities, to reconcile their difference communities  toward finding  lasting peace.
