No fewer than 94 policemen benefited from the recent promotion of 6000 Nigeria Police under the headship of Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris Kpotun.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Idirisu Kennedy stated this while briefing Journalists at the state command along Makurdi road.
The PPRO affirmed that 12 Deputy Superintendent of Police were promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police while 82 Inspectors were promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police.
Abubakar Sadiq Bello said the promotion was a call to duty, adding that promotion comes with stiff responsibilities.
Kennedy maintained that the 12 Superintendent of Police has been decorated while the 82 ASP’s would be decorated subsequently.
On the increasing cases of kidnapping in Nasarawa North senatorial zone, the PPRO asserted that men of the Police Mobile Force have been deployed to strategic points and black spots.
“We recorded few cases in Nasarawa, Toto, Garaku and Akwanga and four kidnappers were arrested in connection to Garaku kidnapping.

He averred that the death of an officer was as a result of road mishap on AYA Bridge in the FCT, Abuja.
“PMF were drafted for a special duty in the FCT and it was unfortunate that one officer lost his life in the process, is not true that three officers died in the accident, he added.
