In line with the Nigerian Inspector General of Police’s mandate to ensure that the welfare of Officers and Men of the force under his watch are well taken care of and to also enhance the smooth operations of the Force, the Inspector General of Police,IGP, Usman Baba Alkali Psc, Npm, fdc, has graciously approved the promotion of some officers in the Command.
The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde (psc+), while decorating the newly promoted officers, congratulated them and charged them to live up to the tasking responsibilities attached to their new ranks.
Stressing that promotion is a call to higher responsibility and as such they should not disappoint the Inspector General of Police in carrying out their statutory duties.
The Commissioner of Police was assisted in decorating the officers by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Incharge of State Criminal Investigation Department(SCID), DCP Mohammed Mustapha Bala , DCP Peter Opara Ukachi, Incharge of Administration, DCP Femi Haruna , Incharge of Operations Department , ACP Okoi Archbong Akpama second in command State CIID, ACP Suliman Ladi, second in command ‘A’ Department , Head of Departments, Area Commanders, their loved ones, wives and husbands of the promotees’.
About one hundred and five (105) officers were decorated with their new ranks they includes : (2) Deputy Commissioners of Police, DCP Cletus Nwadiegbu, DCP Denis Anyi, one (1) Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Dike Albert, four(4) Deputy Assistant Superintendent of Police, DSP Margret Anyanwu and others, eighteen (18) Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP 1) were confirmed on the rank they includes ASP Augustina Kuru, ASP Elobuike Emmanuel and sixteen( 16 ) others while eighty (80) Police Inspectors were promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP II).
In his vote of thanks, the newly promoted DCP Cletus Nwadiegbu, on behalf of other promotees appreciated the Inspector General Police (IGP) Alkali Baba Usman, psc, NPM, fdc, for approving their promotion and equally thanked the Commissioner of Police and members of his management team for seeing them worthy for the elevation and promised that they will live up to their requisite responsibilities with regards to their new ranks.
