What has the president done? Nothing.

Why have the service chiefs not been sacked?

They are “political service chiefs”. Remember they “graced” the launch of Buhari’s campaign. They are important players in the 2019 election.

Arguably, the war against Boko Haram is an industry. And soldiers are the expendable “waste” in this industry.

Most likely, some persons are making a fortune of blood from the killings; so the insurgency remains intractable.

Boko Haram has indeed been defeated.

This government came into power by propaganda, and it is sustaining itself by propaganda.

But it is now a victim of its own propaganda.
