1.3 Million Children To Be Immunized In Jigawa

About 1.3 million children will be immunized this year in Jigawa state under the programme of the modified integrated outreach programme.

 

This was s disclosed by the Executive Secretary Jigawa State Primary Health Care Agency Dr. Kabir Ibrahim in an interview with reporters shortly after the official flag-off of the immunization program at Shuwarin Village in Kiyawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

 

He explained further that the programme is targeted to give free treatment to children below five years which includes nutrition and other issues related to that.

 

He assured that each child across the 27 local governments will be immunized as he added that Adhoc staffs have been employed for the exercise and free positions in schools would be established.

 

The secretary said the ministry is ever ready for the resumption of students to schools assuring that all schools would be fumigated and all facilities that are needed will be supplied to all schools including hand sanitizers, facemasks as well good molecular laboratory are to be adequately supplied to schools.

 

In his words, the district head of Shuwarin Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi charged all village heads under his domain to support the ministry of health achieve its targeted mission.

 

He also advised the council chairman of Kiyawa Local Government to pay more attention to supporting all the health activities in his council especially the program that will touch the lives of women and children.
