Yakubu Busari
The senator representing the Plateau Central Senatorial District of Plateau State, Sen. Diket Plang has distributed two trailer loads of rice to stakeholders in the state to mark this year’s Christmas celebration with an emphasis on people living with disabilities, the aged, and party men and women cut across all political parties in the state.
He admonished coordinators to be fair in the rice Christmas palliative by appealing to them that no one should hijack it because his priority is on the less privileged, aged, and persons living with disabilities.
Plang applauded the Plateau State Government for the well-coordinated Christmas carol flag-off exercise across the length and breadth of the state.
He pleaded with some of the coordinators to make enough sacrifice in the rice distribution to reach the last people designated as beneficiaries, so let us share it accordingly so that everyone can enjoy it and let us extend love to one another.
According to him, Christmas is one of the most important periods in the calendar of the Christian world overall, and it also marked the end and the beginning of the year, which connects with the New Year.
We need to give dishes to our Muslim brethren towards building love and understanding between the two dominant religions in Nigeria.
Sen. Diket Plang prayed that this year Christmas is going to be a peaceful celebration as he also urged citizens to partner with the security and government to ensure that the festivity becomes hitch-free.
He stressed that this Christmas marked a period for us to all dance and extend our brotherhood and demonstrate patriotism; we might be different in tongues, tribes, and religions, but in brotherhood we stand.
Diket reiterated the need for our people to promote peaceful coexistence amongst them and provide a conducive environment for a business-friendly relationship.
He tasked politicians to shun politics of character assassination and blackmail and promote the spirit of love and togetherness because this period wasn’t for Muslims or Christians alone.
Sen. Diket stated that in the spirit of celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, the stakeholders in the Plateau Central Senatorial District are going to get cows, including the APC stalwart in the state.
