Yuletide In Imo: TWG For SARSAC Expresses Readiness To Curtail Road Crashes With FRSC

The newly inaugurated State Road Safety Advisory Council, SaRSAC, has successfully concluded a one-day interactive session aimed and targeted at ensuring free road accidents during the 2021 Yuletide with the members of the Technical Working Group, TWG, of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FSRC, in Imo State.

The maiden meeting as scheduled was held at FRSC RS9.4 Imo Sector Command recorded huge success and thereby attracted all the members of TWG which includes: FRSC, Ministry of Works/Transport, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Budget/Planning, and Nigerian Police Force, NPF.

Others are the Chairmen of various establishments such as the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Human Rights Organisation, the Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals, NIPS, the National Association of Road Transport Owners,NARTO, the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, the Driving Schools Association, the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, and the State Fire Service Chief, amongst others, a few to mention.

The key responsibility of TWG is to adopt the implementation of uniform standards for traffic enforcement, vehicle inspection, road signs and marking, personnel training, and rescue administration.

At the meeting, various recommendations were made to FRSC on the issues that require national regulations and standards, which, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Imo State, ably led by the Sector Commander, CC Joshua O.Adekanye, fsi, in his reaction, assured a quick response to all that was discussed, but appealed to road users, especially drivers to drive with caution and have patience while on the steering even as he advised against over speeding in the Xmas period.

In the spirit of Yuletide, the authority of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Imo State, ably led by the Sector Commander, CC Joshua O.Adekanye, fsi, was on Thursday, 2nd Dec.2021, concluded a held one-day seminar with the members of the Technical Working Group, TWG, for the State Road Safety Advisory Council, SaRSAC, days after their recent inauguration by the Federal Road Safety Corps, FSRC, in Owerri.

Yuletide is the period of several days in the month of December including Christmas days and it is often seen as a period when drivers, commuters, pedestrians, and other road users lose control of their respective movements.
