Youth Forum Calls For Free And Fair Primaries In Taraba State By Tom Garba, Yola

The Northern Youth Leaders Forum (NYLF) has called on the national leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to conduct free and fair primaries in Taraba State to avoid situation that will generate to violent.
The National Chairman of the association Comrade Elliot Afiyo made the call yesterday at a press conference held in Yola.
Elliot accused some of the stakeholders of the PDP both in Taraba and Abuja of aiming to set the state on fire by denying Alh. Garba Umar chance to participate in the party primaries because of his religion affiliation.
He explained that the leaders of PDP in Taraba has been divided along religious line based on their selfish interest
According to him, Taraba State from inception has been a volatile area witnessing Tribal and religious crisis ranging from Jukun-Kutep, Jukun-Tiv, Jukun-Fulani, Fulani-Karimjo which the wounds are yet to be completely discarded and heal.
He said that his group strongly frowned at the actions and inaction of the Acting Governor of the state and the PDP stakeholders in the state who went to visit the PDP National Chairman demanding for zoning the Governorship to the southern zone of the state.
” We viewed this latest stance as a calculated attempt to deny Alh. Garba Umar and Muslims of Taraba State the privilege of governor the state at even at once and trading the peace, religious and ethnic unity in the state in particular and the North by extension the country in general” he said

He said that if PDP fails to give all the aspirants fair treatment it would affect the fortunate of the party not only in Taraba State but the entire North-East
