Youth Arrests Hwolshe Hard Criminal, Hands Him Over To Police In Anglo Jos Division

The Nigeria Police Command in Plateau, Anglo Jos Division has recorded another breakthrough as it has nabbed two notorious armed robbery gang terrorizing the residents of Hwolshe of Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau state.

The Anglo Police says, acting on it arrested a man known as Alex Pam who is a taxi driver in Hwolshe area of Jos south LGA on Monday.

The man who was arrested following a tip off by some patriotic youths of the area as the police said the man has been threatening the inhabitants of the community and the state.

Our source disclosed that security officials has been the trail of the development and arrested the culprit with the support of youth who came out enmass.

About seventy percent of the youths in Hwolshe community gave evidence.

They told this medium that they set their eagle eyes on the suspicious attitude of him the suspect who is simply identified as Alex.

According to them, it was on Sunday morning that luck ran out of the culprit who hides under the cover of being a taxi driver and he was accosted by the youths for alleged car battery theft.

The angry mob went to his house and embarks on thorough search and several items were allegedly uncovered including many car batteries.

The Youth leaders after then   decide to invite the police into the matter, and after further search of the suspect’s residence, several other incriminating items were said to have been uncovered by the police which include some military hardware, different identity cards belonging to him and huge sums of money running into hundreds of thousands of Naira as well as some foreign currencies.

They told reporters that the police whisked the suspect away to Anglo Jos   division after the raid.

However, some respondents of the community were surprised that such a man who is very reserved could be linked to such crime whereby he and other gangs unleashes terror on residence of the state capital.

The Community is of view that by virtue of the incriminating items discovered in at his residence, the man could be a member or informant to a gang of kidnappers.

They complained that by virtue of the menial job they know he does, that is not enough to generate the huge sums discovered inside his apartment including some foreign currencies.

Three days after the arrest of the suspect, the youth frowned at the police for not given the public situation on ground.

In a phone interview  police spokesman ASP Mathias TYOPEV he confirmed the arrest but declined to speak further as according to him the man is still being investigated with a view to unraveling his specific nature of crime and possible collaborators.
