The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, Nasarawa Polytechnic, Lafia has called on the state government to as a matter of state importance accord impetus to a letter of complaint by the Joint Union to exclude Dr. Dalhatu Musa Yusu’a as a member of the ongoing investigative panel.

ASUP chairman, Paul Useni stated this while fielding questions by selected Journalists during an inspection of projects by the panel.

He appealed to the Chief executive to reconsider the appointment of Dr. Dalhatu whom he said was a former desk officer of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).

He says the inclusion of the former officer would undermine the ongoing investigation.

Useni, however, said Dalhatu has a question to answer because of the role he played while in office as TETFUND desk officer.

“The Joint Unions of the Polytechnic have resolved by forwarding a letter of complaint to the governor through the office of the Secretary to the State Government of our position”.

“The presence of Dr. Dalhatu Musa Yusu’a would not yield any fruitful result, and the entire investigation would amount to colossal waste”.

Commending the state governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura for the constitution of the investigative panel.

While answering questions on why some persons indicted by the visitation panel headed by the embattled Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Silas Gyar were not implemented after three years.

Paul Useni faulted Gyar over his failure to implement the report.

“Dr. Silas Gyar should be held responsible for his inability not to implement the recommendations of the report.

Calling on the panel under the headship of Hajiya Fatima Sabo to use the report of the last visitation panel as a template and by ensuring that the recommendations are implemented.

while commenting on the rumpus over the emergence of two persons as Registrar of the institution, ASUP chairman appealed to the state government to do the needful to avert any upheaval in the institution.

“There is no crisis over the office of the Registrar reasons been that the visitor directed that the three affected officers should handover to the next officer who is Habu Danladi “.
