Ahead 2019 general election, there seems to be more troubles for Bauchi Governor, Mohammed Abubakar, as many of his aides and appointees are said to resigning. The latest aide to resign, Comrade Mohammed Jibo, who was the Special Assistant to Governor Mohammed in a latest release signed by him, has bombed the Governor.

In the Statement issued by Jibo, he said, branded the governor as the worst Governor Bauchi ever had since its creation. Speaking further Jibo said that the present administration under Mr. Abubakar’s leadership has turned out to be an unpopular administration, even as he stated that it is an administration that uses deceit as political gimmicks to achieve popularity and he said that Abubakar does not respect anyone in the state.

“It is a bitter truth that in the course of serving under the administration of M. A. Abubakar Esq. I realized that it is the worst administration Bauchi State ever had since its creation. It is an administration that misplaced all its priorities and turned blind eyes to any popular project that can have direct impact to the people of the state. It is an administration in which whoever serves under is 100% subjected to the opinion of the Governor with the only option to resign if you cannot comply.

“It is an administration that turns its appointees as mere tool for promoting the normal empty promises of the Governor. It is an administration that believes in deceit as political gimmicks to achieving popularity. It is an administration in which the leadership does not respect anyone in the state no matter how highly placed, particularly when it is pursuing its personal interest. It is an administration in which the Governor’s interest supersedes any other interest no matter how unpopular such an interest is, it must be pursuit at every length without any ifs, buts or ands.

“It is an administration where any other interest apart from that of the Governor is seen as the interest of an enemy, no matter the benefit it will bring to the people of the state. It is an administration that ONLY benefits Governor M. A. Abubakar Esq. and him alone to say the least.

“It is prudent to mention here that while I am not the only government appointee that resigned my appointment under this administration, I happened to be the one that tried very hard to stay in the Government despite its unpopular status. I did this with the believe that the programme we initiated if fully implemented will bring a lot of respect and integrity to the administration, because of the direct bearing it has to the general public in the state. However, I came to realized lately that the Government under Governor M. A. Abubakar Esq. only executes projects and programme that can serve their personal interests.

“In realizing this therefore it became clear that it is end of the road for me in this government. However, as much as I cannot continue to serve under an administration that does not give any regard to the yarning and aspirations of its followership, I am not regretting having served faithfully under the same administration, at least it gave me a better experience. But, I am so happy now that I am outside the government and look forward for a better opportunity to serve my people and humanity at large.“

It could be recalled that I formally and voluntarily resigned my appointment as the Special Assistant to his Excellency Mohammed A. Abubakar Esq., the Executive Governor of Bauchi State on Students and Scholarship Matters vide a letter dated the 12th day of April 2017 and duly served on his Excellency through his office at the Government house on 12th day of April 2017.

In my letter of resignation, I concealed a lot of things that culminated into the reasons for my resignation due to the respect I accord his Excellency and for trying not to join issues with the political traders around him who consider mischief making as their source of income. I remained silent about every issue surrounding my resignation not because there was nothing to say. However, since my silence was taken to be cowardice by the same mischief makers, and because many of my well-wishers want to be more informed, I decide to clear the air using this important medium of communication.

The administration of his Excellency Governor M. A. Abubakar Esq. which I served under and which the general public including myself have so much confidence in from inception has turn out to be an unpopular administration, I must say. When I was appointed as the Special Assistant to his Excellency the Governor of Bauchi State on Students and Scholarship Matters, my immediate thought was that at last God has bless me with an opportunity of being a catalyst through which the general public particularly the Youth and less privileged in Bauchi state will be helped out to become the masters of themselves.

On my assumption to duty and in line with my belief about the administration I initiated a programme targeted at supporting 50,000 less privileged youth across Bauchi State who have requirement to go to the institutions of higher learning but could not due to financial incapacitation. After going round the 20 Local Government areas in the state and shortlisted a number of candidates for the programme, a memo was submitted to his Excellency under my office for the release of funds for the programme. Although the proposal was approved by his Excellency, some people around him decided to hijack and claimed ownership of the programme. When they discovered they will not succeed, they resorted to blackmailing me at every opportunity they have.

Having been informed of his Excellency’s approval of the proposal but before the release of the funds for the programme, I constituted a committee under my office of the people I want to work with for the success of the programme. I further initiated a system whereby the beneficiaries of the programme registered their information under my office and submit relevant documents required. In the course of doing all these I came in contact with many intelligent and enterprising youths who are genuinely in need of support to succeed in life. This gave me real courage to continue despite all the challenges I was facing particularly from within the people around his Excellency. While I am doing all these, the same mischief makers created an artificial problem and factionalized the leadership of the National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS), and his Excellency was made to believe that I was at the centre of the Union leadership problem.

For me I felt this was a trivial issue that should not distract me from working hard to actualize the programme I initiated which will eventually give hope to our teaming and enterprising Youth from Poor Homes. I therefore moved on. But little did I know that the Government itself was not sincere in its promise to sponsor the programme. I came to realized this when a number of youths who registered for the programme under my office came to me with admission letters from different institutions of Higher Learning across the nation for sponsorship. I had to get back to the Government House to enquire about when and how the fund will be released for the programme.

I tried mounting pressure on Government so that the programme will commenced, but after waiting for months having in mind that the registration of new students in to the tertiary institutions for a new session was about to be closed and that Government was not ready to fund the programme, it became clear to me that the Government under M. A. Abubakar Esq. only gave lips service or what he considers as political statement/talk to the people but in reality does not intend to work the talk.

As a respected personality in my community who hankered for every opportunity to serve humanity, it will be a disservice to my conscience and to the community I came from to be used as a campaign tool to deceive the general public on the ground of political statement, or to satisfy the interest of an individual no matter how highly placed he is at the instance of my integrity. Thus, after some consultations with my immediate constituency I became convinced that it is more honourable to resign my appointment than to remain under a leadership that has no regard for the needs of its followership, no matter how much is my personal gain. I then put up my resignation letter having satisfied my conscience that it is the right thing to do.

It is a bitter truth that in the course of serving under the administration of M. It is an administration that turns its appointees as mere tool for promoting the normal empty promises of the Governor. It is an administration where any other interest apart from that of the Governor is seen as the interest of an enemy, no matter the benefit it will bring to the people of the state. It is an administration that ONLY benefits Governor M. A. Abubakar Esq. and him alone to say the least.

It is prudent to mention here that while I am not the only government appointee that resigned my appointment under this administration, I happened to be the one that tried very hard to stay in the Government despite its unpopular status. I did this with the believe that the programme we initiated if fully implemented will bring a lot of respect and integrity to the administration, because of the direct bearing it has to the general public in the state. But, I am so happy now that I am outside the government and look forward for a better opportunity to serve my people and humanity at large.

Thanks and God bless.
