The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the company, Engr Baba Umara Mustapha, made this known in Yola while declaring open a Public Consultation Forum on Electricity Tariff Review.
Mustapha who was represented by the Senior Corporate Communication officer of the company, Mr Kingsley Nkeneme, said YEDC which cover Adamawa, Yobe, Taraba and Borno states was committed to supporting the various aspects of power sector reforms meant to improve service delivery and productivity.
Mustapha said the forum is to provide an opportunity for stakeholders and customers to discuss issues.
Also speaking, the company’s Secretary/Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs, Barrister Bala Mohammed, said the forum was an opportunity for the company to explain it proposes tariff classification and rate review.
Mohammed who urged for consumers support said with things being equal, the company has planned to among others install 260,000 pre-paid meters, 300 transformers and connect 75,000 new homes and customers within five years.
