Yes-Shecan: Young Girls Vow To Bring In Good Governance Into Nigerian Politics, Leadership

Some cross section of Imo young girls was on Saturday, Nov.13th 2021, during a one-day workshop successfully concluded their social commitment to impact lives positively in entrepreneurship, governance and leadership most especially in active politics.

 

The programme which was epoch making recorded huge success under the platform of “Yes-Shecan 2021″ with the theme: Breaking Barriers”.

 

The event which was held at Rockview Hotel Owerri, attracted many vibrant, brilliant and hardworking young girls and some virtues women from across the 27 LGA’s of Imo State.

 

Note that the platform,”Yes-Shecan”, is the brainchild of one of the illustrious Imo women, Hon.Adaora Onyechere, who is the Executive Director WEWE Africa, she is also a Radio Broadcaster, with the African Independent Television,AIT.

 

Speaking, Hon.Adaora, in her piece advice,  promised  continuous encouragement to womanhood, even as she described the event as a movement.

 

Adaora is moreso the founder of a Non-profit Organization/ Non-Governmental Organization registered and  known as WEWE Network Afrique, she is also the anchor of Kakaki Television Programme of AIT.

 

She also ran an Social Programme on TV known as ”#Talk2Adaora”.

 

She is a renowned Broadcaster, Producer and TV Presenter, who has shown great passion to service to humanity especially as it concerns the establishment of women, ladies and girls in Nigeria.

 

Adaora Onyechere, who spoke to over hundreds young girls, also appealed to all the young girls who were present at the workshop never forget to aspire higher in the society.

 

While speaking, Adaora,  hinted on the needs for young girl in Imo State and in Nigeria at large (female folks) to adventure in the entrepreneurship, industrialization, governance and active politics.

 

According to Adaora, “We are running a movement which is not a programme, you must leave upto expectations and not living into limitations. As women, you are made to add positive value. You must have dreams and it is vital to write down your dreams. Celebrate your uniqueness. You can be the best you want to be in life”.

Addressing the girls via online streaming from Sidney in Australia, Mrs.Mofoluwaso Ilevbare, who is a Thought Leader, encouraged the girls present at the seminar to strive and adventure into entrepreneurship and politics instead of allowing themselves to be limited.

 

Adding his voice of advice, the founder of TedX Talks, Hon.Martins Uwakwe, who officiated the 2021 Yes-Shecan Workshop for Women, encouraged all the participants to always be focus, strive harder and not be relegated to the background in their endeavours of lives.

 

Hon.Uwakwe therefore enjoined the female folks in Imo State and in Nigeria to engage into successful businesses that would be beneficial to them, even as he charged women to embrace active politics to impact positively into the society.

 

The highlight of the movement was the brilliant intelligent essay competition won by a 300 level of Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology,FUTO, Owerri, Miss Lucy, and presentation of certificates to all the registered participants.

 

At the end of the workshop, all the beauty and brains ( intelligent and brilliant young girls) who displayed their various mental skills were honoured and respected with different kinds of trophies.

 

More so, amongst one of the respected persons in the society who graced the event was Hon.Sir.Ezenwa Nwagwu, the Board Member of Yiaga Africa, who in his words, encouraged the women to think of engaging into active politics and break their ways into leadership with the present organization where they belonged to.

 

Note that Yes-Shecan is an annual young women empowerment workshop that gathers young African Women between the age of 18-35 to hear and learn from the inspirational speakers, showcase their talents, careers, business and leadership mentorship and network amongst to themselves and policy makers, under the capacity of the founder, Adaora Onyechere, a very young woman of substance who has shown passion to salvaging the lives of teeming young women in Imo, Nigeria and Africa.
