World Photography Day, Governor Bala Doles Out N5 Million To Photographers Association In Bauchi

In commemoration of World Photography Day, Bauchi state governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has today donated the sum of five million Naira to the Bauchi Association of photographers in the state.

 

Governor Bala, who personally welcomes the Association at the Annex of the new Government House in Bauchi, thanked and appreciated them for supporting his candidacy to contest for the number one seat in the country.

 

“I am highly impressed by your concerns about me running for the number one seat in the country.

 

“I promised you if, given the opportunity to serve this country, I will give a priority to the photography profession in this country, with a view to bringing back our historical legacies.

 

However, governor Bala also disclosed that he has already made plans for building a modern and befitting Museum and Art Gallery for tourist attractions in the state and promised to accommodate them.

 

Abdulkadir, also assured the Association members of his tireless efforts in continue to support them to the actualization of their dreams

 

Earlier in his speech the leader of the Association Engineer Seth Francis said the Association is one of the largest Photographers bodies in the entire northeastern region, adding that they have over two hundred and eighty registered members across all the 20 local government areas in the state.

 

He said the group decided to use the occasion to pay a solidarity visit to the Governor considering his numerous achievements of social and infrastructural development in just twenty-six months on the mantle of Leadership in the state.

 

Francis said that the Association is ready and willing to partner and participate actively in projecting, promoting, and publicizing the governor’s activities of programs and policies for him to succeed in his ambition for the number one seat in the country.

 

The leader of the group however solicited for a new Gallery Museum for photographers in the state to enable them to train their members to become professional photographers, as well as to use the office in showcasing and exhibitions of their talents towards promoting and improving the economic growth of the state and the country at large.

 

Other challenges by the leader said was in the area of job creation and employment for the teeming youths in the state

 

The coalition groups comprise the Bauchi State Photographers Video Coverage Association (BSPVCA) and Bauchi State Association of Professional Photographers (BASPPAN).

 

Other dignitaries at the event include the deputy governor Senator Baba Tela, secretary to the state government Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, PDP state chairman Alh. Hamza Koshe Akuyam, House Leader, Adamu Aliyu Burga among others.
