“If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principle difference between a dog and a man.” – Mark Twain.

There is no denying the fact that Sen Mal Ali Wakili was one of the main facilitators of M.A. Abubakar emergence as governor. He joined other key political actors in the state to provide the platform and worked out the model with which M.A.Abubakar achieved his dream of leading Bauchi state as a democratically elected governor. It will be, therefore, uncharitable to ever think of M.A. Abubakar’s emergence without tying it to the likes of Sen Ali Wakili and his ability to mobilise resources for the feat.

But despite his enormous contribution to ushering him into the office, today Sen Ali Wakili is M.A.Abubakar’s biggest moral baggage.

The barefaced hostilities being orchestrated against Senator Ali Wakili and former governor Mal Isah Yuguda actually bear a tinge of self-serving motive.

Last week ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s rescheduled visit to Bauchi state to commission the newly established Nigerian Airforce base and newly equipped 60 bed Airforce hospital which was later canceled due to poor weather.

Major streets of Bununu the headquarters of Tafawa Balewa, Dass and Bauchi, the capital of Bauchi state have been inundated with a joint campaign posters of the former governor of Bauchi state Malam Isah Yuguda and Senator Mal Ali Wakili, for President and Governor come 2019.

The posters was the handwork of Governor Muhammed Abdullahi Abubakar to ridicule Sen Ali Wakili and Mal Isah Yuguda before the President. However, the posters did not reveal the party under whose platform the duo will contest.

The multi-colour poster has at its background, inscription bodly witten in Hausa language ” KO YENZU AJA DAGA! ” literally translates meaning; ‘Even now, we are ready for the battle field’, with Malam Isah Yuguda putting on the popular Hausa cap with ‘garri’ and Distinguishable Sen Mal Ali Wakili also adorning Hausa regalia too and a fitted cap that he is popularly known with. “2019 Project ” is the slogan on the poster.

Governor Muhammed A Abubakar took his obnoxious willingness to denigrate and tarnish the image of Sen Ali Wakili and former governor Isah Yuguda before the President in a reckless bid to advance his selfish political interests to a new level of irresponsible and rascality.

As the governor set his eyes for 2019, he thinks that he can cause people like Sen Ali Wakili, former governor Isah Yuguda and others collateral damage in his  desperste effort to rejuvenate his dwindling image.

Unless his unbridled ambition and desire for self- promotion have

completely befuddled his mental faculties and caused him to totally lose touch with reality, Governor M.A Abubakar must know that his claims and allegations are untrue.

We can only assume therefore that he is deliberately spewing

malicious falsehood in a desperate effort to incite the people of

Bauchi State and Nigeria against his assumed political foes.

The writer therefore, warn him that there are legal, constitutional and moral limits to political rascality beyond which he will not be allowed to go without repercussions.

The immunity which he currently enjoys notwithstanding, Governor

M.A.Abubakar should be under no illusions: A day of reckoning will surely come when he will answer for all his actions and false allegations against Sen Ali Wakili and Mal Isah Yuguda.

He should also know that Bauchi people are aware of the truth and will never be fooled or swayed by his arrant opportunism and anti-

Wakili / Yuguda’s policies.

The Governor should stop trying to make Sen Ali Wakili and former govrrnor Mal Isah Yuguda the scapegoat for his woeful performance in Bauchi state and look to his own very apparent failings and incompetencies.

He should also stop blackmailing Sen Ali Wakili and Mal Isah Yuguda who has demanded nothing from him other than good governance, justice, equity, fairness, real development and progress in Bauch State.

I REST MY PEN FOR NOW!
