Following the just concluded state congresses the new exco of People Democratic Party in Plateau state, has pledged its readiness to reposition for 2019 general elections.
It was gathered that the two factions of G34 led by Dr Haruna Dabin, Sen Ibrahim Mantu and Hon Bitrus Kaze have boycotted the inaugural ceremony of the party.
The state Chairman pledged his administrative loyalty to repositioning the party ahead of 2019 general elections and recapture power from the APC government.
The former minister of Youth and sports Hon Damishi Sango during the official handing over at the party state secretariat promised to re-dedicate his effort to capture back Plateau.
The PDP boss stresses that this is a very important day in the history of plateau politics as all the former chairmen are witnessing the handing over and return of peace in the state.
“Whether we like it or not somebody must emerge the winner but I can now understand the feeling of those who lost in the last election, the party was divided and Lalong didn’t come out to win but the mistake of the leaders gave him the victory.
According to him, “APC government has no business in Plateau state so we are calling on the new exco to be united to give them credible opposition as a party.
Adding that,” whatever they are going to do we shall not allow them but we appreciated constructive criticism with no sentiment separate us.
“We are going to work hard to revamp back the party, what surprise me most is that governor Lalong is a lawyer and he committed an impunity of sacking local Government chairmen that is very sad “.
“How can you be trained as a lawyer yet you used law act to cut off elected local government councils ,we must bring them back if elected come 2019 ,he added .
He challenged media to be objective in their reportage toward ensuring that they balance their reports.
The former Chairmen , Prof. Dakum Shown ,Hon. Raymond Dabo all said PDP Is a functional opposition in the state so thank the exco for keeping faith with the party .
He explained that throughout the period of electioneering campaign none of their leader decamp to the opposition party so they praise them for remaining committed inspite of challenges and threat .
Dabo described the PDP as a great party which members kept faith with tenets of democratic principles.
Professor Dakum Shown expressed happiness for witnessing the official handing over of democratic structure of the PDP .
He promised to dialogue with the aggrieve members by pleading with them to join hand with the new exco .
Shown admitted that in 2015 general elections he work for the victory of APC but now pledged to support PDP
He praised the senators representing Plateau state and the house of rep who are keeping the flag of the party.
Former speaker Hon Titus Alam assured that PDP would regain back its lost glory in 2019 by making use of research team to reposition the party land slide victory.
