Wike Wins Rivers PDP Guber Primary Election

The former Minister of state for Education, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has won the PDP Gubernatorial Primary election in Rivers state.
The former minister polled 1083 votes out of the 1108 delegate votes.
Speaking after being declared winner Wike said; “My victory is victory for democracy.”
According to Wike he stated; “I will reclaim the stolen mandate of the PDP and recover what is rightly ours in rivers state. The era of rascality and impunity has caused Rivers state dearly.  Today, the state enjoys a pariah status.”.
Other candidates, who contested are Dumbari Dimkpa who emerged second 21 votes, and West Ibinabo got only three votes, leaving Emmanuel Georgewill and Lee Maeba with one vote each.

It was gathered that 17 out of the 24 aspirants boycotted the exercise.
